Twenty Years Old
20. It's a good round number of time that you can pick up, examine, mull, and then, put somewhere over there. It's a hurdle. It's thank you, sayonara, and hopefully we have learned from it. By shopkeeping standards, it is categorically considered an accomplishment. By my standards, making it through your first year is an accomplishment.
So, in the spirit of this accomplishment, why don't you come by this Thursday and celebrate with us? You, yes you dear reader, are one of the reasons Pod is still part of your small business community. Let us make a toast to YOU. From 5-7p we will have bubby--both the spirited variety and 'I gotta drive' variety. Treats too: cupcakes by Beverly Hsu, and savory goodness fashioned by a long time client Liz Garvey at Fork Lift Catering. And, we want you to enjoy 20% off of your purchases that day anytime from opening until close. We've even made a fun Pod tote bag celebrating 20 things have consistently made this place thrive--all wonderfully illustrated by our talented friend and fellow Podette, Diane Dube. If you're one of our online friends, you'll be able to apply the code: wow20 and receive the same discount towards your purchase.
The images above illustrate our different locations over the years. 6 Davis Avenue, 313 Washington Street (both in Brookline Village, MA), and then our dear 35 Sacramento St. in Cambridge. The other pics simply bring fond memories. A favorite Fedex guy in Tulip's bed vying for the rubber bone, my dear friend Frank at the flower market-we've known each other through many good and many challenging times. And there is Diane. She's always been a good sport about modeling almost anything I wrap around her and has been a supportive friend and colleague during all of 'this'. There are many people to thank for these twenty years. I'll do so in person on Thursday when I see you. much love, julie
