Studio Mama: The Off Cuts

Spotting ‘eyes, ears and tails bundled together’ among the off-cuts from their Pallet Project, Studiomama began to make wooden creatures, just for fun. 

Studiomama created a book documenting the series of small wooden creatures assembled entirely from off-cuts of wood left behind by other projects, often themselves made from repurposed materials. This repeated reuse of waste material is entirely in line with the ingenuity and sustainable ethos of the studio.

Studiomama is an East London-based multidisciplinary design studio founded by the creative couple Nina Tolstrup and Jack Mama in 2000.
