Rosie's Place Holiday Fundraiser!
Shopping. Fundraising. Join us December 9th & 10th!
Many of you know the drill, but if you're new to Pod, WELCOME! This is something you don't want to miss. Our annual holiday event is especially important because we donate a portion of our weekend sales to Rosie's Place, a local organization whose mission is close to our hearts.
Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women's shelter in the United States. Located in Boston, their mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that helps poor and homeless women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity, and find security in their lives.
Today, Rosie's Place is a multi-service community center that offers women emergency shelter and meals, and so much more: a food pantry, ESOL classes, legal assistance, wellness care, one-on-one support, housing and job search services, and community outreach. Here women will find support, opportunity and the tools they need to make a new start.
Rosie's Place relies SOLELY on the generous support of individuals, foundations, and corporations and DOES NOT accept any city, state, or federal funding.
So what's going on besides making a dent in your gift lists?
You can count on a boatload of potted up paperwhites just waiting to be gifted. Whimsey by Lindsey will be providing us with her lovely mixed bouquets-perfect for your weekend eventing. A selection of swags, and other fresh, seasonal greens will be on hand as well. If anything, it's sure going to smell wonderful.
Do not forget the RAFFLE!! You know our raffles are pretty great and this year won't disappoint. Anyone who makes a purchase at Pod this weekend is eligible. Presently, we have very generous donations from: Cutty's, Bon, Sofra Bakery, Covet & Lou, Hi-Rise Bread Co., Bagelsaurus, Field & Vine, Oleana, Gather Here, Rebel Rebel, Breadboard Bakery, Eva Masaki, We Theives, Dear Annie, Pod, Katherine Small Gallery, London Borough of Jam, Joanne Rossman, and Patch NYC Who knows? This list could grow.
At checkout, you'll be asked if you'd like to enter the raffle. It does NOT cost extra! We'll need your name, phone number and email--this is simply to be able to contact you if you win. We are not adding you to ANY lists or sharing your info. We promise.
It's a fun time. We help you out, you help us out, we all help Rosie's out. There's a lotta love around this weekend and we hope you will find a moment to participate. XO

Pod is 25!
Last week, Pod turned 25.
Yes, a whole quarter of a century has gone by and we blame YOU. You encouraged. You brought your dogs when ours had passed. You tried something new--repeatedly. You supported the causes. You purchased what you could during more than one recession. You dragged in your out-of-town friends. You stood in line outside during a nationwide pandemic. You made this shop your "third space". You hitched your wagon to our runaway train and put your trays in their upright position as we took off and crash landed into your hearts. How dare you. Thank you. We'll never forgive you.
Join us Friday, 9/22 and enjoy 25% off your purchase. For our friends further afield, use code WOW25 online. That day, shop hours will be 12-7p. From 5-7p we'll be serving up bubbly beverages. We hope you'll be there. We'd love to raise a glass to you. And humbly, Thank you. X, J
